Of the many work from home job opportunities available, customer service representatives, freelance web designers and those who sell products through online auction sites are among the top jobs. These jobs offer flexible scheduling, freedom to work from home, and can be very lucrative. If you have excellent people skills, enjoy working with computers and are efficient and punctual, you can go far in any of these careers or other work from home jobs that are advertised.
Customer service representatives who work from home work in a variety of industries. Typical duties for these employees include answering customer questions, taking orders, finalizing travel arrangements, and directing customers to other departments within the company. In order to qualify for one of these jobs, you must demonstrate an ability to help others, remain professional at all times, and be able to multi-task as you will receive many calls during the day. Most companies require that you complete a phone interview and tests before you will be considered for a customer service position. If additional training is needed, you will be asked to complete this training on-site or online before you will be able to start working.
Freelance web designers create websites for a variety of businesses. They may also write content, help increase exposure online, and help business owners by answering customer email. Depending on your level of education, your creativity and the region in which you live, there is plenty of work to be found. Most web designers attend trade shows, contact potential clients and advertise online in order to generate additional business.
Maintaining an existing website may also be the job of a freelance web designer. Because these designers don't work for a company, they can decide which projects to take on and which projects to continue to work on even after the site has been constructed. This business is different from other work at home businesses because you will be responsible for finding new clients and keeping them happy. For those who want to run a business without answering to other people, then this is one business to consider.
If you enjoy sales, selling items online through auction sites is a great way to attract a large amount of people. You can sell a variety of items or specialty items if you choose. Many people create their own online stores and sell merchandise through these sites without holding auctions as well. While you will be responsible for marketing, shipping and billing, you will be able to use the marketing tools provided on the auction site including listing directories, to find your customers.
Even though these work from home businesses are different from each other, all three allow you to work from home. You can create your own schedule in most cases; sell items you want to sell and choose the clients and projects you want to work on.
